Worshiping the ‘Creature’ or the “CREATOR”?

Young children often engage in a verbal sparring of “my Dad’s better than your Dad”  We can gingerly nod our heads, smile and remember the days of our youth when we succumbed to this sort of childish ribbing.  The sad fact is that many seemingly mature Christians and unsaved people willingly resort to the same tactics when it comes to their individual  preference in religious preachers.   This ought not to be.  Whether the person who stands behind a pulpit or is viewed over the air waves, it is our responsibility to discern their motive, which  should be that the message given forth should exalt the Lord Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately, many of these religious messages are not scriptural in content.  The undiluted Gospel of Jesus Christ is not being presented.  There is one well-known tele-vangelist who seldom, if ever opens the Bible.  He has it in his hand and raises it up in the air as he chants his familiar recitation, but the message that follows is geared to the emotional self-esteem of the individual and not the admonition of sin, repentance, and salvation through the shed blood of the Savior, God’s only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ.   Yet many folk are enamored by his charisma and accept his diluted humanistic message as ‘gospel’  These folk, unfortunately are worshipping the  ‘creature,’ and not the Creator, God Almighty!

Another one of these ‘tube’ toters of religion whose followers boggle my mind is a woman.  The Bible clearly states that a woman is NOT to teach or usurp authority over a man.  Hello, this should be a huge red- flag that perhaps God is not being honored by the sermonettes being broadcasted.  She has apparently made millions of dollars from her blinded following.   In addition, the Lord has commanded his female saints not to dress in ‘costly array’, but that which portrays Godliness.  (1 Timothy 2:9)   One can easily observe that her garments often do not adhere to this teaching in the Word.  The folks who are smitten by her diluted presentation of God’s Word are worshipping the ‘creature’ and not the Creator, God, Almighty.

Let’s take this from the realm of the air waves and into the pulpits of this Blessed Nation.  We often hear when engaged in conversations concerning spiritual knowledge that, “Well, My Pastor says.”  Friends, if what your Pastor or any man proclaims from the pulpit does not line up with the Bible, then guess what,  IT IS NOT TRUTH!.  Before the scriptures were translated into a language that  people could understand, the religious leaders could and did promote their own perverted version of the scriptures.  Once the people had access to the truth, the reformation took place.  Sadly today,  many of those who own a Bible do not read what is contained therein.  Humanistic preachers monopolize on this fact and are free to preach whatever they like.  Should a member of their following challenge the message,  they are often  treated in a condescending manner.  Thankfully some of these folk ‘come out from among them’ and find a church which does preach the whole counsel of God.  Many of their flock do not, believing that their spiritual leader knows best.   Again, these blinded folk are worshipping the ‘creature’  not the  Creator, God, Almighty.

With the advent of the written Word of God being presented in audio and even braille form, people have access to the truth as God has set forth in his infallible Word.  We actually have an obligation to search the scriptures and learn for ourselves what is truth.  Satan, the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not lest the light of the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ should shine onto them.  Those who do know the truth of the Gospel, should not be carried away by every whim of doctrine but should educate themselves to thwart  the Devils attempt to lead them astray. (Ephesians 4: 14,15)

Our Blessed Creator has given us the ability to learn and discern His infallible Word.  If we lack wisdoom in understanding the Bible, God has promised to impart wisdom unto all who ask and He will give it liberally.  Discern what is the way, the truth and the life, in Christ Jesus.
